POSITION SUMMARY
This role exists to drive the sustainability strategy and "Make Travel Matter" experiences for our EMEA brands, ensuring every journey aligns with the company's Net Zero roadmap. You will advance the corporate mission by measuring impact, engaging the supply chain, and acting as a champion for responsible travel across operations, sales, and marketing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Make Travel Matter Experiences
- Work with the Travel Experiences team to develop and maintain Make Travel Matter Experiences for Insight, Trafalgar, Costsaver and Luxury Gold EMEA
- Work with Travel Experiences, Operations and Ground Handler Manager to brief TDs and ensure that MTM Experiences work successfully
- Create content to inspire others to travel on our journeys
- Continually look to improve the experiences that we operate
- Work with other brands to collaborate on opportunities
- Measure impact of our brands
- Work with the TTC Sustainability team to measure and audit our brands sustainability practices with a view to benchmark where we are now and to measure changes going forward (i.e. Animal Welfare, MAKE TRAVEL MATTER Experiences, local dining experiences etc)
- Sustainability Strategy for each of our brands
- Analyse market trends and identify new opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint of our tours in line with TTC's Net Zero Roadmap
- Facilitate training to equip TDs to integrate sustainability across all aspects of trip delivery
- Support the contracting teams and ground handlers with engaging our supply chain on sustainability topics
- Support destination partnerships focused on sustainability topics including enhancing local cultural heritage, combatting over tourism, and advancing climate action plans
- Promote Sustainability in the business
- Be the champion for sustainability in the business, and develop a working group of others keen to work on it for you
- Develop content to promote our sustainability measures on brochures, web and guest documentation
- Point of contact with the marketing and sales teams about promoting our sustainability activities
- Use Viva Engage and other internal networking tools to spread the word about the sustainability activities
- Communicate updates on sustainability to the selling regions throughout the year and create support material to help sales
- Represent sustainability in our brands at various internal and industry events
ROLE SUCCESS CRITERIA
- Successful Delivery of the "Make Travel Matter" Portfolio: The role holder will have developed, audited, and launched a robust portfolio of "Make Travel Matter" experiences across all EMEA brands. Success is measured by high guest satisfaction scores on these specific experiences and seamless operational execution by ground handlers and Travel Directors.
- Measurable Progress on Net Zero Benchmarks: The individual will have established a clear baseline for current sustainability practices and successfully implemented initiatives that reduce the carbon footprint of tours. Success is demonstrated by accurate data reporting in line with the TTC Net Zero Roadmap and tangible improvements in supply chain compliance (e.g., animal welfare and waste reduction).
- Integration of Sustainability into Commercial Strategy: Sustainability will no longer be a standalone topic but a core selling point. Success is defined by the effective training of Travel Directors to deliver this message on the ground, and the adoption of sustainability content by the Sales and Marketing teams to drive booking conversion.
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
- Substantial experience operating escorted journeys
- Experience managing sustainability practices and a passion for the same
- Proven ability to supervise a global operation
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident presenter
- Contracting and negotiating experience an advantage
- Ability to represent the sustainability practices of our brands on the virtual and actual stage
