- Own the Outcome. We take responsibility for our decisions.
- Succeed Together. We have each other's backs.
The Role:
This is a role for someone who wants their models used, not admired. You will solve complex customer and commercial problems through advanced analytics, experimentation and machine learning, working with rich customer, booking, behavioural, marketing and digital data. The problem space is broad: segmentation, propensity, personalisation, customer value, retention, forecasting and commercial optimisation. Alongside hands-on work, you will shape analytical methodology, mentor other data scientists and help our most valuable models move from experiment into decisions that change what the business does. The data is rich, the questions are real and the appetite for answers is genuine.
What Will You Do?
- Lead complex data science initiatives from problem definition through modelling, validation and implementation.
- Build predictive and machine learning solutions across priority customer and commercial use cases.
- Apply advanced statistical techniques to uncover behaviour, patterns and commercial opportunity.
- Design rigorous experiments and measurement approaches that reveal genuine incremental impact.
- Set best practice in feature engineering, validation, reproducibility and model evaluation.
- Work with Data Engineering to productionise high-value analytical solutions.
- Guide model monitoring, drift management and ongoing performance.
- Turn sophisticated analysis into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Mentor data scientists and provide technical leadership across the team.
- Contribute to data science strategy, standards, governance and responsible AI practice.
About You:
Essential:
- Significant experience in data science, applied data science or machine learning in a sophisticated commercial environment.
- Advanced capability in Python and SQL.
- Deep grounding in statistics, machine learning, experimentation and model validation.
- Solutions you can point to that delivered measurable customer or commercial impact.
- Strong experience across segmentation, propensity, lifetime value, personalisation or forecasting.
- Experience with large-scale behavioural, transactional or customer datasets.
- Understanding of production data science, MLOps and model monitoring.
- Commercial judgement and the ability to simplify complex technical findings.
Desirable:
- Experience providing technical leadership, peer review or coaching to other data scientists.
- Exposure to Snowflake or another modern cloud data science environment.
- Experience contributing to responsible AI standards or governance.
- Experience in a global, multi-brand or multi-market business.
- Curiosity about travel, hospitality or global consumer businesses.
