What will I be doing?
As a Line Manager in the Technical Accounting team within the Finance Department, you will play a critical role in developing and mentoring Finance Assistants while ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial operations. You will support with the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts, including the completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments to provide business information and support the wider Finance team in ensuring financial controls and procedures are met.
During the day you could be involved in:
- Leading and mentoring the Finance Assistants within the Technical Accounting team
- Supporting the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts for the Group
- Performing consolidated and individual entity balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings
- Preparing statutory accounts and iXBRL tagging accounts for Group companies
- Assisting in preparing for the year-end audit and serving as a main contact for external auditors and tax advisors
- Compiling and reviewing VAT returns
What are we looking for?

- Experience working within a busy finance or accounts department
- Proficiency in a range of finance tasks, including monthly management accounts, bank-related transactions, and nominal ledger reconciliations
- Excellent IT skills, familiarity with computerised accounting packages, and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Adaptability - flexible in approach and quick to learn, particularly in technical areas
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act with diplomacy
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, demanding, and changeable environment
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to use own initiative
- Analytical approach with a desire to investigate and highlight variances
- Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise, multi-task, and effectively meet deadlines
- ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
Desirable:
- Knowledge of IFRS
- Experience using Access Financials accounting software.
