As Head of Group Reporting at Trainline, you will lead IFRS annual and half-year reporting, the external audit process, and the preparation of the annual report for a listed business. You'll act as the technical accounting authority on complex areas, influence capital planning and liquidity insights with the CFO and Board, and ensure a robust control environment. This role sits at the heart of external reporting, translating technical positions for senior stakeholders and auditors. You will shape reporting standards across the group, collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growth-focused company.
Responsibilities
- Own IFRS annual and half-year financial statements and annual report
- Lead end-to-end external audit and review processes, and prepare Audit Committee papers
- Oversee subsidiary statutory accounts across UK and international entities
- Own cashflow forecasting, analyze liquidity and capital structure with treasury
- Act as primary technical accounting authority on complex areas and implement new standards
- Lead one-off projects and contribute to monthly reporting, budgeting, and balance sheet/workings
- Manage external relationships with auditors, lenders, and banking partners; coordinate with legal and CoSec for timely reporting
- Lead material controls framework under Provision 29 and maintain accounting policies including acquisitions and changes in legal structure
- Guide reporting systems and process changes to protect control integrity
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience in a listed business
- Extensive IFRS expertise and strong technical accounting grounding
- Experience advising on complex technical matters; ability to defend positions with auditors
- Experience in practice at Director level or above for listed groups
- Experience researching and implementing new accounting or reporting standards
- Analytical, thorough review of financial information; ability to spot anomalies
- People management experience leading high-performing cross-disciplinary teams
- Strong project management skills with ability to work independently or in a team
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Paris and Edinburgh offices
