Summary
We are seeking a casual Wraparound Care Assistant to work under the guidance of the Wraparound Club Leader and Principal. The role involves providing childcare and supervision for pupils attending the Wraparound Club at Harris Academy Chobham.
The assistant will work closely with children, encouraging and supervising their activities, ensuring safety, welfare, and their physical and mental well‑being. The role is casual, paid £15.68 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Maintain a safe, creative and stimulating environment for children’s play experiences;
- Assist the Club Manager in planning a programme of activities designed to meet the needs of the children;
- Establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children, staff, volunteers, parents and carers;
- Ensure all policies, standards and guidelines are adhered to;
- Provide a creative programme of arts, crafts, games, sports, drama, music and relevant off‑site activities;
- Build positive relationships with children and their families, valuing parental involvement;
- Take responsibility for health and safety, including risk assessments for indoor and outdoor activities, trips and outings;
- Attend weekly team meetings to discuss and assess progress and any issues;
- Carry out financial and administrative tasks such as petty cash, registering children and processing parental forms;
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the building and areas of use, including toilets; and
- Follow first aid procedures and keep records of accidents and treatments;
- Deputise for the Club Manager when they are on leave, sick, or off site.
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- NVQ2 or equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant discipline such as playworker or childcare;
- good numeracy and literacy skills;
- appropriate knowledge of first aid;
- a willingness to undertake further training, if required;
- experience in a similar role or working within a school setting;
- experience supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
