About The Role
Teacher of MFL with Potential TLR
Start date: September 2026 or January 2027
Location: Ark Alexandra Academy, Hastings, East Sussex
Salary: Ark Outside London Main/Upper Pay Scales: £33,739 to £53,094 + and potential TLR for a leadership role including Head of Department for the right candidate.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent

We are looking for an enthusiastic MFL teacher who can teach French and Spanish up to GCSE level. At KS3 the students follow an Ark MFL curriculum and at KS4 students follow the Edexcel syllabus for French and Spanish.
We are pleased to offer the possibility of a TLR for an appropriately qualified and experienced candidate. This may include the opportunity to undertake a leadership role, such as Head of Department, subject to the successful applicant’s skills, experience, and leadership capacity. This provides an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking to develop or extend their leadership experience.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with students of all abilities, be proactive, have excellent communication skills and be experienced in establishing successful learning relationships with young people and adults. They will be instrumental in our mission to provide every student a great education and real choices in life, regardless of their background. A passionate practitioner, with the ability to deliver high‑quality, rigorous lessons that drive achievement and inspire a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
