The Area SENCo Team supports schools across Lambeth to deliver high-quality inclusive education for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The team collaborates with schools, education professionals, health services, and partner agencies to promote early intervention, strengthen inclusive practice, and support pupils with SEND to achieve positive educational outcomes.

The Area SENCo provides specialist SEND leadership and support across a range of educational settings within Lambeth. The role focuses on enhancing schools' capacity to identify and meet the needs of children and young people with SEND, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the SEND Code of Practice. Working closely with school leaders, SENCOs, and multi‑agency partners, the postholder delivers advice, training, and strategic support to improve inclusion, strengthen early intervention approaches, and drive better outcomes for pupils with additional needs. The role combines operational and strategic responsibilities, contributing to the continuous development of SEND provision across the borough.
