Key Responsibilities:
- To apply the safe service of alcohol in line with Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.
- To host and co-ordinate the bar experience at the Whisky Bar for all guests.
- To ensure that service is delivered with excellent product knowledge and professional understanding of menus, wines and suppliers.
- To prepare bills, process customer payments and transactions using POS system.
- To communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction.
- To ensure the “cash-up” of the takings, to record and to store safely.
- To ensure the “lock-up” procedure of the bar at the end of service so the building is secure and safe.
- To assist the management of stock and inform Resort Bar Duty Manager of any low stock levels to ensure your department operates at maximum efficiency.
- To set up the bar and beverage service in line with department guidelines.
- To organise stock, to re-stock and to replenish bar supplies by ensuring quality control of storage of all drinks in relation with Resort Bar Duty Manager.
- To put away any deliveries for your department by checking against delivery notes or invoices, reporting to the Resort Bar Duty Manager.
- To assist monthly stocktake and to update a stocktake sheet if necessary.
- To partake and co-ordinate the cleaning of bar, drawing room and library so that it is always of the highest order.
- To assist with the completion of departmental checklists, cleaning rotas and operation procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
- To liaise with the Resort Bar Duty Manager in supporting professional drinks service and knowledge.
- To assist with implementation of any new policies, practices in order to ensure a continuous process of improvement within departments.
- To communicate effectively with the food service team and other departments and to assist when necessary or upon request by a Manager.
- To assist with the service of food as required to support the 1887 Restaurant and Front of House teams.
- To organise and maintain effective recycling and environmental control of the Bar.
- To assist with drinks training for the team as required by Management in order to influence up-selling and suggestive selling.
- To assist with departmental training for yourself and others when necessary.
- Any other duties that may be required for the overall benefit of the Company within range of skills of the job holder. Management will provide additional training where appropriate.
