We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance department.

You will be responsible for all upkeep and repair duties including maintaining outdoor spaces, identifying the need for repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and servicing company equipment.

To be an effective Maintenance Technician, you will be skilled and hard-working, with outstanding problem-solving abilities.

Skilful hands, good physical stamina, and strong technical knowledge are important parts of the successful candidates’ talents.

  • You will be asked to work as part of the team as well as being able to take your own initiative and work individually
  • This is a demanding role and we are looking for someone who has great eye for attention to detail and who takes pride in their work
  • Pay & Reward

Hours: 40 hours per week. Alternate weekend cover. Contract: Permanent Salary: £29,000 per annum

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform basic tasks including filling and painting, cleaning facilities and managing maintenance repairs.
  • Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment or appliances.
  • Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
  • Regularly check outdoor spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure or breakdowns.
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Conduct performance assessments of company appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers.
  • Provide managers with support and guidance on maintaining equipment.
  • Changing light bulbs and ensuring other fixtures and fittings are in good working order.
  • Minor plumbing and joinery.
  • Clearing or cleaning general areas.
  • Shifting furniture or equipment.
  • Assembling furniture or equipment.
  • Footpath maintenance.
  • Painting and decorating.
  • Changing filters on air conditioning systems.
  • Maintaining property exterior through the different seasons.
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining property stores.
  • Be environmentally aware and dispose of waste according to hotel standards.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to resolve problems and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers.
  • Being resourceful and self-motivated.
  • Physically strong – capable of working with machinery or moving heavy equipment.
  • Able to resolve complaints quickly and efficiently.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Qualifications in any trade such as electrical or plumbing work.
  • First aid trained.

Reporting Lines

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager or Duty Manager on shift.
