HGV Class 1 Container Driver – Walsall – £20ph
Drivers Today are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Container Drivers for long-term, ongoing work based in Aldridge, Walsall.
The position involves local container haulage, deliveries and collections using articulated vehicles and skeletal trailers. There are no dock or port collections, so a dock card is not required.
We offer £20.00 per hour PAYE including holiday pay or LTD, regular Monday-to-Friday day shifts, typically starting between 06:00 and 08:00, and weekly pay.
Approximately 50 hours per week are available, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced container drivers seeking consistent work and good earning potential.
Previous container haulage experience is essential.
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous HGV Class 1 container haulage experience is essential
- Experience operating skeletal trailers and transporting shipping containers
- Confidence with coupling, uncoupling, reversing and manoeuvring articulated vehicles
- Good understanding of container twist locks and safe load securing procedures
- Knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
- Ability to complete delivery and collection paperwork accurately
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and follow transport instructions
- Availability for regular Monday-to-Friday day shifts
- No dock card required, as the work does not involve ports
