Role profile
The purpose of this role is to support category management, sourcing, and contracting efforts for assigned categories supporting the non-merchandise areas of the business. This role has an impact on supplier selection, adding value to the business and supporting various Business Partners across the organization.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Supports Global Category Managers/Managers Of in the execution of their regional and global sourcing events that are medium to high complexity across all assigned categories including sourcing administration and event support. Uses defined strategic sourcing methodologies, tools, and templates to ensure a fair, open and competitive sourcing process.
- Supports Global Category Managers/Managers Of in the development of their regional and global sourcing strategies that are medium to high complexity across all assigned categories.
- Collaborates with Business Partners to drive value for the business, while maintaining high quality service standards. Builds trust with key Business Partners to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Participates in the development and execution of contracts and ensuring compliance to TJX Approval Authority Schedule and Audit requirements.
- Performs and delivers sourcing analysis of strategic sourcing events as assigned by management.
- Manages research and analysis to keep abreast of innovations, new products, new sources price trends, market conditions, etc. for assigned categories.
- Participates in Global Category Management Teams for assigned categories and supports category strategy development activities as assigned by management.
- Ensures, in partnership with Global Procurement, a compliant \’Source-to-Pay\’ process is in place for all eligible Business Partner spend.
- Understands basic negotiation principles and executes negotiations in support of value delivery for assigned categories and projects.

- Participates in developing recommendations for selection of suppliers. Supports negotiation of related agreements but does not sign off on agreements.

- Recommendations should be reviewed with management in advance of sharing with business partners.
- Can independently manage tasks to support sourcing initiatives with Business Partners.
- Knowledge of RFx requirements including sourcing event structure, selecting suppliers to participate, building RFx criteria and deciding upon timing, length, type and complexity of RFI, RFP and/or e-Auction.
- Develops recommendation of supplier selection to Business Partners in partnership with management.
- Strong command of Microsoft Suite
