Your Role: The video department is looking for a proactive and creative Video Editor to manage the editing of all long-form and short-form video for The Sunday Style YouTube channel and website. The ideal candidate will have brilliant previous knowledge of editing similar lifestyle content from interior house tours to beauty and fashion series and celebrity interviews. You will work alongside the Head of Style Video to deliver four films a month and multiple cutdowns for YouTube shorts and The Times social channels. Our ideal editor will have the ability to cover both editorial style videos and videos sold commercially by our in-house team.

Day to day you will:

  • Manage all of the video edits for The Sunday Times Style YouTube channel.
  • Liaise with industry DOPs to collect footage and take it into edit.
  • Work quickly to deliver each edit within a tight turnaround.
  • Manage editing for commercial clients and work with their feedback to match their strong house guidelines.
  • Work alongside our Audience Team to ensure they have all assets needed for publishing.
  • Work closely with the Production Team to manage your workload and edit schedule around constant shoot bookings.
  • Edit both from the central London office and home.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • A strong background in lifestyle editing for YouTube is a must.
  • Can edit multiple projects at once to different tight deadlines.
  • You can take initiative and be creative with editing styles and narratives.
  • Work to constructive feedback from Video heads before sign off.
  • Full capability to edit in Premiere Pro.
  • Have a great understanding of GFX, motion design and upload requirements for YouTube.
  • The ability to edit with a social mindset and pull out viral moments for our Times social channels.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills when working in a team.
  • Good understanding of 'The Sunday Times Style' as a magazine and the type of talent that is featured and how best to showcase them through an edit.
