Your Team
Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.

Your Role
As a vital partner to the Times Media Commercial Director and the wider commercial teams, you will drive financial insight and strategy across our iconic print and digital brands. Reporting into the finance leadership, you will play a key role in navigating the evolving digital advertising landscape and ensuring our financial frameworks are robust and forward‑looking.

Day to day You Will

  • Act as a dedicated business partner to the Times Media Commercial Director and the commercial teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of digital advertising and the key performance indicators that impact business success.
  • Evolve the financial and KPI reporting framework to provide clearer insights.
  • Manage the forecasting and budgeting processes for both print and digital advertising streams.
  • Collaborate with the Peterborough and offshore finance teams to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Perform deep‑dive analysis to understand revenue drivers and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Support the development of a shared direct report by providing guidance and demonstrating best practice.

What we’re looking for from you
You are a fully qualified accountant with some PQE experience. Exhibit strong communication skills by translating complex financial data for various departments across the business. Build effective working relationships quickly with both finance and non‑finance colleagues to reach shared goals. Demonstrate a willingness to challenge the status quo at all levels to ensure the best outcomes. Identify and implement process improvements to increase departmental efficiency. Bring a passionate and principled approach to your work, ensuring decisions are made with purpose and a high standard of delivery.
