Keeping inventory in check, paperwork flowing and operations running smoothly so the team can deliver with confidence. We’re always looking for ways to do things better than we did yesterday – because being the first choice for our customers and a great place to work for our team is what we’re all about. At The Timber Group, people matter. You’re recognised, respected, and remembered – and in return, it’s our people who earn the trust of customers, teammates and the communities we serve. Our loyal customers stick with us because we build strong relationships. We listen, we deliver, and we go the extra mile to make sure they leave happy.

We’re looking for an organised Stock Administrator to help keep things running smoothly in our timber yard. You’ll be the go-to person for keeping track of stock, making sure deliveries are on point, and helping everything move efficiently across the site. It’s a key role that keeps the yard ticking and helps us give customers the best possible service.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Keeping stock records up to date and accurate – timber, fixings, and all the essentials.
  • Carrying out regular stock checks, audits and sorting out any mismatches.
  • Checking deliveries as they come in – making sure everything’s there and up to scratch.
  • Working closely with the yard team to keep stock moving smoothly and on time.
  • Updating inventory systems and pulling together reports when needed.
  • Spotting and flagging any issues like missing items, damage, or stock errors.
  • Helping plan what needs reordering and chatting with suppliers to get it sorted.
  • Keeping the stock area tidy, safe, and well-organised.
  • Supporting safe working practices when handling stock.
  • Teaming up with logistics and sales to make sure everything’s running like clockwork.

We’re happy to explore flexible working options. Feel free to chat with us about it during the interview. While we might not be able to meet every request, we’ll always listen with an open mind - and there’s no judgment in asking.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re after someone who’s confident with stock control, inventory systems or warehouse work – ideally with some experience around timber and yard environments (but that’s a bonus, not a must). You’ll need a good head for numbers, solid attention to detail and be comfortable using inventory software and Microsoft Office. If you’re someone who can stay organised, solve problems and work well both solo and with a team, you’ll fit right in.

What’s In It For You:

We believe great work should be recognised and rewarded. Here’s what you can expect:

  • 23 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays (31 days per year)
  • Company bonus scheme, based on performance
  • Contributory pension and life assurance
  • Discounts on high street retailers, supermarkets, restaurants, gyms and cinemas
  • Colleague discount across our group brands
  • Attraction and travel discounts
  • Training and development programmes to support your growth

We offer on-the-job training and opportunities to work towards recognised qualifications, including apprenticeships. At Huws Gray, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce makes us stronger, smarter and better at serving our customers. We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to creating a respectful and inclusive workplace, whether you’re based in one of our branches, on the road or in one of our offices. If you need any adjustments to support you through the application or interview process, please let us know.
