We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our team at Maidstone. Working as part of a friendly and hard-working branch team, you'll play a key role in delivering timber, sheet materials and building supplies to our customers safely, efficiently and on time, with a focus on great service, safety and reliability.
We're a driven bunch, and that shows in everything we do.
We're always looking for ways to do things better than we did yesterday – because being the first choice for our customers and a great place to work for our team is what we're all about.
At The Timber Group, people matter. You're recognised, respected, and remembered – and in return, it's our people who earn the trust of customers, teammates and the communities we serve.
Our loyal customers stick with us because we build strong relationships. We listen, we deliver and we go the extra mile to make sure they leave happy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating a 26-tonne HGV Class 2 vehicle equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering timber, sheet materials and building supplies to customers across the local area.
- Safely operating the HIAB crane to unload materials at customer premises and construction sites.
- Ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, safely and on time while providing excellent customer service.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring your vehicle and lifting equipment are maintained to a high standard.
- Ensuring all loads are safely secured and transported in accordance with current regulations.
- Managing delivery paperwork and complying with company procedures, drivers' hours and transport legislation.
- Representing The Timber Group professionally and building positive relationships with our customers.
What You'll Bring
We know you're more than just a CV! At The Timber Group, we embrace individuality and believe your personality and attitude are just as important as experience.
For this role, we're looking for someone who has:
- A valid Category C (Class 2) HGV driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- A recognised HIAB / lorry-mounted crane qualification, with practical operating experience.
- A good understanding of vehicle safety, load security and safe lifting practices.
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
- Great communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the branch.
Experience delivering timber, building materials or working within the builders' merchant industry would be an advantage.
Above all, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, looks after their vehicle and understands the importance of delivering a great service to our customers.
What's In It For You
We believe great work should be recognised and rewarded. Here's what you can expect:
- A strong annual leave allowance, alongside your bank holidays.
- Company bonus scheme, based on performance.
- Contributory pension and life assurance.
