The Role
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, no two days are the same. You will play a key role in helping children feel safe, valued, and supported within a family-style environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and encouraging positive daily challenges
- Helping children develop independence and essential life skills
- Supporting educational and learning goals
- Planning activities and community-based experiences
- Delivering engaging and meaningful key work sessions
- Using positive behaviour support approaches
- Supporting children with routines, communication, and personal care where required
- Working alongside schools, families, and external professionals
- Creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing home environment
- Acting as a positive role model every day
Whether it's helping a young person achieve a personal milestone, supporting a day out, teaching life skills, or simply being a consistent and trusted adult, your contribution will make a real difference.
Requirements
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Previous experience supporting children and young people
- Full UK Driving Licence (or working towards obtaining one)
Essential:
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development
- Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships
