We are recruiting an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a high-quality solo occupancy residential children’s home, alongside supporting a respite service, for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or existing Deputy Manager looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and well-structured service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and respite service
- Lead, mentor, and supervise staff to deliver high-quality, child-centred care
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and records are maintained to a high standard
- Promote positive outcomes for young people through consistent, trauma-informed practice
- Take responsibility for safeguarding, compliance, and Ofsted standards
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership during out-of-hours situations
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Previous experience in a residential children’s home, ideally with EBD
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, and Ofsted requirements
- A resilient, calm, and child-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
