We are looking to hire a Team Leader within our Welding and Fabrication department to support our Production Manager. As a Supervisor you will be responsible for our production teams producing fabrications and welded components safely on time and to required quality levels within the production plan. Working as part of the manufacturing production team you will have previous experience of supervising medium sized teams and ideally have a minimum of 2 years experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment. You must beproficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. A knowledge of plating and welding would be advantageous as would working knowledge of ERP systems and a Lean Six Sigma yellow or green belt. You should have a flexible approach, with the ability to motivate a team and prioritise effectively whilst working to strict targets and deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Lead team to manufacture products within required timescales and to the correct quality. Identify and countermeasure plan slippage, escalating the need for resource where required. Manage and minimise overtime to deliver projects within target costing. Provide clear direction to team members and ensure that the team deliver to the required standard. Ensure an effective handover between shifts making sure the team are clear on priorities and deadlines. Motivate and provide constructive feedback to team members and proactively manage performance identifying any training requirements. Ensure appropriate risk assessments for your area are in place and maintained. Ensure all Health & Safety policies in your area are adhered to at all times and that any actions identified through risk assessment are carried out with 100% compliance. Ensure correct asset care and operation of all equipment used within your area. Work closely with the Engineering and planning teams advising on build upon and supporting build sequence decisions. Attend and contribute to daily/weekly production meetings providing updates from your area. Ensure a high level of workplace organisation and housekeeping (5S) is maintained within area of control, leading by example and coaching team members to understand and reach required levels. Carry out route cause analysis on any quality concerns and implement countermeasures to prevent re occurrence. The contract is a 37 hour per week day shift contract however there may be a requirement to work overtime and night shift as per business requirements. Attributes &Skills: You will naturally possess a flexible, enthusiastic approach with a can-do attitude and the ability to manage your time effectively whilst working to tight targets and deadlines.: Essential requirements; Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail, focusing on quality at all times. Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work. Visible Quality Control values.
