An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a CNC Miller (Large Gantry Milling Machines) in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear.

£***** to £***** per hour depending on experience & shift pattern. Days & nights plus overtime available.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the machine schedule is completed within the required timescales and to the correct drawing specifications.
  • Work methodically through tasks whilst ensuring quality is not compromised.
  • Follow quality policies and procedures.
  • Highlight any quality or production issues to supervision.
  • Maintain product traceability.
  • Prepare and load materials on machines.
  • Maximise machine utilisation with minimum downtime.
  • Multiple machine running when requested.
  • Mentor apprentices and colleagues when requested.
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Time served CNC Miller/Machinist.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to understand and interpret geometrical tolerances.
  • Familiar with Siemens 840 / Mazatrol controls.
  • Competent working to and maintaining tight tolerances.
  • Competent lifting heavy components.
  • Experience of machining large fabrications.
