Were looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor or Cost Estimator with around 12 years experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organisation, where youll gain exposure to complex projects and develop your commercial skills with a clear path towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
Reporting to the General Manager, youll work closely with project managers, engineers, and the wider supply chain, supporting the commercial delivery of projects while building experience in cost management, contract administration, and NEC contracts. This role would suit someone who is motivated to learn, eager to take on responsibility, and looking to accelerate their career in Quantity Surveying.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the commercial and financial management of projects.
- Support the administration of NEC contracts, including early warnings and compensation events.
- Produce cost and value reports to support project delivery.
- Work with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to manage commercial matters.
- Assist with tenders, pricing, and pre-contract reviews.
- Help identify and manage commercial risks across projects.
What Were Looking For
- Essential Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Around 12 years experience in a QS or cost estimating role.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ambition to progress to Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
- Desirable Exposure to NEC contracts.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or contractor environments.
- Familiarity with cost estimating or project management software.
Working Pattern
37.5 hours per week Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm Friday: 8am-12pm (WFH available). Flexible working options are available, including consideration of a 4-day week.
