Security Guard Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear 4 on, 4 off Days £12.77 per hour Nights £16.98 per hour (Overtime available) An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Security Guard. The purpose of the role you will be responsible to work as part of the security team and ensure the site is always maintained in a safe manner. Raise and communicate any issues and problems with the team leader. Help solve any issues that arise during the day-to-day operation of the site. To assist in the maintenance of all aspects of physical and personal security at the Armstrong Works site. To monitor and control site access in relation to staff, visitors and contractors and carry out high patrols to provide reassurance and a highly visible deterrent. To have responsibility for monitoring CCTV and co-ordinating an appropriate response to any potential incidents as required. Answer telephone calls as required and signpost to the correct party as appropriate. To manage or assist in the resolution of security incidents as they occur in a calm and professional manner, and any other duties as required in the Security Assignment instructions. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Work alongside a team of colleagues to deliver the security for the Armstrong Works site. Monitor site visitors, contractors, and employees through access control and site induction procedures. Conduct high visibility patrol activity throughout tour of duty. Monitor CCTV, react and coordinate to any incidents accordingly. When required liaise with the emergency services and act as initial contact if needed. Control traffic through directing drivers as required. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities. Preform scheduled and random checks of designated areas to check for security breaches. Interacts with any person trespassing, or attempting to trespass, on site in an appropriate manner. Securing and opening site as part of the patrol function of the role. Assist with the logging of any lost property. As a trained First Aider provide appropriate medical interventions to those attending the gatehouse or across site ensuring that appropriate paperwork is filled in correctly.Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Familiar with Gatehouse procedures Familiar with Security systems, equipment, policies and procedures Familiar with Administration systems (Word, Excel) SIA Approved – Desirable 1st Aid trained – DesirableEssential / Desirable SC clearance will be sought as part of the candidate’s employment requirements Due to some of the nature of our work, we have a number of security obligations placed upon the Company, which means that all our security staff, must be able to successfully achieve the relevant security clearances.
