An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Security Guard. The purpose of the role is to work as part of the security team and ensure the site is always maintained in a safe manner. Responsibilities include:
- Raising and communicating any issues and problems with the team leader.
- Assisting in the maintenance of all aspects of physical and personal security at the Armstrong Works site.
- Monitoring and controlling site access in relation to staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Carrying out high patrols to provide reassurance and a highly visible deterrent.
- Monitoring CCTV and coordinating an appropriate response to any potential incidents.
- Answering telephone calls and signposting to the correct party as appropriate.
- Managing or assisting in the resolution of security incidents in a calm and professional manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working alongside a team of colleagues to deliver security for the Armstrong Works site.
- Monitoring site visitors, contractors, and employees through access control and site induction procedures.
- Conducting high visibility patrol activity throughout the tour of duty.
- Reacting and coordinating to any incidents accordingly.
- Liaising with emergency services and acting as initial contact if needed.
- Controlling traffic through directing drivers as required.
- Completing reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Performing scheduled and random checks of designated areas to check for security breaches.
- Interacting with any person trespassing, or attempting to trespass, on site in an appropriate manner.
- Securing and opening the site as part of the patrol function of the role.
- Assisting with the logging of any lost property.
- Providing appropriate medical interventions as a trained First Aider.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Familiar with Gatehouse procedures.
- Familiar with security systems, equipment, policies, and procedures.
- Familiar with administration systems (Word, Excel).
- SIA Approved - Desirable.
- 1st Aid trained - Desirable.
- SC clearance will be sought as part of the candidate’s employment requirements.
- CCTV license is desirable, but training can be provided if required.
- Full UK driving license – Desirable.
- Conflict Management Training – Training provided.
