An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Robot Operator. The purpose of the role is to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic welding systems to support production efficiency and quality. The role requires a proactive approach to process improvement, equipment upkeep, and collaboration with production teams to optimise workflow.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate robotic welding systems using pendant controllers.
  • Develop and maintain a library of programs for various product geometries, materials, and welding consumables.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on key components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Conduct visual inspections of produced welds to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Work closely with production and welding teams to identify and resolve workflow issues.
  • Assist in implementing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Robotic Operations: Develop a strong understanding of robotic welding techniques and metalworking.

Programming & Optimisation: Gain expertise in the robot's programming software and capabilities.

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve minor operational issues.

Quality Control: Ensure high standards of welding accuracy and efficiency.

Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to safety protocols and perform routine maintenance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand instructions, schematics, and route cards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a team environment.
  • Act as an ambassador for robotic technology, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Develop expertise in robotic programming and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with some but not all of the following robotic welding systems is beneficial: Yaskawa Motoman, Fanuc Arc Mate, Universal Robots COBOT, Fronius Tube Welder.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in robotics or welding systems.
  • Manual welding experience (advantageous but not required).
  • Familiarity with programming software for robotic systems.
  • Demonstrate a positive and progressive approach to evolving robotic processes.

Competitive remuneration package offered. Up to £13.96 per hour depending on experience (Additional overtime available). Salary negotiable and dependent on experience.
