An opportunity to join an established and rapidly expanding organisation in the NE of England as a CI Engineer. This role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. You will have a strong background in engineering principles, lean manufacturing, and quality control methodologies as well as contributing to cultural change.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Analyse current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute process improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to measure performance and track improvement outcomes.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and training sessions for team members.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to process improvements, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in continuous improvement and manufacturing.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process engineering, preferably in a fabrication or machining environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
