We’re looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor or Cost Estimator with around 1–2 years’ experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organisation, where you’ll gain exposure to complex projects and develop your commercial skills with a clear path towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and the wider supply chain, supporting the commercial delivery of projects while building experience in cost management, contract administration, and NEC contracts. This role would suit someone who is motivated to learn, eager to take on responsibility, and looking to accelerate their career in Quantity Surveying.
Key Responsibilities- Support the commercial and financial management of projects.
- Assist with cost estimating, tracking, and forecasting.
- Support the administration of NEC contracts, including early warnings and compensation events.
- Produce cost and value reports to support project delivery.
- Work with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to manage commercial matters.
- Assist with tenders, pricing, and pre-contract reviews.
- Help identify and manage commercial risks across projects.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Around 1–2 years’ experience in a QS or cost estimating role
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ambition to progress to Senior Quantity Surveyor level
- Exposure to NEC contracts
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or contractor environments
- Familiarity with cost estimating or project management software
Working Pattern
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday: 8am–5pm
- Friday: 8am–12pm (WFH available)
