An established and growing UK business operating across depots and manufacturing operations is seeking an experienced QHSE Director to lead and shape its Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental strategy. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded QHSE professional who can drive cultural change, strengthen governance, and embed best practice across a complex multi-site operation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board, you will take full ownership of the organisation's QHSE strategy, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and supporting sustainable growth. You will provide strategic leadership across operational and manufacturing environments, acting as the key advisor on all QHSE matters while building a proactive, high-performance safety and quality culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the Group-wide QHSE strategy aligned to business objectives
- Provide executive-level leadership and governance across all sites
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and quality legislation
- Lead incident investigations, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee Integrated Management Systems and ISO compliance
- Drive internal and external audit programmes and corrective action processes
- Lead environmental and sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction plans
- Influence senior stakeholders and operational leaders to embed best practice
About You
- Senior QHSE leader with experience in multi-site operational environments
- Background in construction, plant hire, manufacturing or related sectors
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and strong technical QHSE knowledge
- Proven ability to influence at Board level and lead organisational change
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic mindset
- Demonstrable track record of improving QHSE performance and culture
