Thrive Group Bolton are seeking an experienced candidate to work for our client based in the Middleton area, assisting with plant production at the nursery. Your duties will involve:

  • Propagate and produce plant material under glass and in open ground using seed and asexual methods.
  • Control pests and diseases using both natural and chemical methods as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, including receipt of new outsourced stock and records of dispatched items.
  • Carry out interior landscaping and floral displays as directed.
  • Care for and correctly identify trees, shrubs, and herbaceous borders, including pruning, soil cultivation, and aftercare.
  • Advise Environmental Management staff on plant suitability and assist with the design of floral bedding and other soft landscape features.
  • Use and maintain nursery equipment as required.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with Corporate and Service Policies and report any incidents that may cause harm or injury.
  • Assist members of the public visiting the nursery in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Carry out additional horticultural duties as required, including preparation and planting of bedding displays, carpet bedding, and the provision and maintenance of planters and hanging baskets across the borough.
  • Drive vehicles when required, including carrying out vehicle checks, cleaning, transporting goods and personnel, and ensuring correct loading and unloading of materials in compliance with weight limits.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:00 and Friday 08:00 - 12:00 - 32 hours per week. Flexibility is required in this role, as you will be required to work 1 weekend every 4 weeks. Pay rate starting at £13.99 per hour. Please apply with your CV if you are interested.
