Thrive Group Bolton are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our busy builders merchants team in Burnley. This is a customer-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, helping customers and being part of a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking and packing customer orders (typically 50-100 products daily)
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Assisting trade and public customers in the yard
- Answering telephone enquiries and taking customer orders
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard area
- Heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the day
- Supporting warehouse and counter staff when required
What We're Looking For
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Team player with good attention to detail
- Previous experience in a builders merchants, warehouse, or yard environment preferred but not essential
Working hours will be Monday to Friday 7:30am-16:00 with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. This is a temporary position; however, this could lead to long term for the right candidate.
