Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and responsible Live-In Bar Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our bar. The successful candidate will be confident with excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of bar operations, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the bar, ensuring a friendly, professional and efficient service.
- Recruit and train new members of the team where required.
- Ensure excellent customer service and deal confidently with customer queries or complaints.
- Manage cash handling, takings and end-of-day procedures.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders and control wastage.
- Ensure the bar, cellar, service areas and customer areas are clean, safe and well maintained.
- Ensure all licensing, health and safety and responsible alcohol-service requirements are followed.
- Build strong relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and owners/management as required.
- Carry out opening and closing procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales, service and the overall customer experience.
- Take responsibility for the premises when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a bar, pub or hospitality management position.
- Strong people-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of stock control, ordering and cash management.
- A practical, hands-on approach to running a busy bar.
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A strong understanding of licensing and responsible alcohol service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- A positive attitude and the ability to create a welcoming environment for customers and staff.
Live-In Accommodation
Live-in accommodation is provided as part of the role , subject to agreed terms and conditions. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain the accommodation appropriately and understand that, as a live-in manager, they may occasionally be required to respond to urgent issues outside normal working hours.

Working Hours
