The Thinking Traveller is looking for a skilled People & Culture Manager to join our team and help shape an exceptional employee experience for our international team of 'Thinkers'. If you’re a confident generalist who thrives in a fast‑paced, people‑centred environment and is passionate about building thoughtful, inclusive cultures, this role offers the chance to work across multiple countries.
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture and leading our People & Culture Advisor, you’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day People & Culture operations across Greece, Italy, US and UK. Supporting initiatives that strengthen engagement, wellbeing and organisational effectiveness, you’ll work closely with the Senior Leadership team and managers to ensure our ‘thoughtful’ culture is consistently championed and supported across all locations. This is a broad, hands‑on generalist role and your work will directly shape the experience of every Thinker at TTT.
This full‑time role is based in our London office in Shoreditch. TTT operates a hybrid working model, with three days a week spent in the office and two days working from home.
What you’ll be doing
- HR Operations
- Provide timely, accurate advice to Thinkers, managers and SLT
- Oversee P&C administration including contracts, offers and reference checks
- Ensure our HRIS (BambooHR) is accurate, optimised and fully utilised
- Support budgeting, headcount planning and Board reporting
- Payroll, Reward & Benefits
- Oversee monthly payroll across all regions (outsourced providers in Greece, Italy and UK; PEO model in the US)
- Oversee benefits administration and support the rollout of new programmes
- Lead salary benchmarking and support the annual pay review
- Recruitment
- Deliver an inclusive, end‑to‑end recruitment process, ensuring fair and equitable hiring decisions
- Employee Relations
- Support the harmonisation of P&C practices across Greece, Italy, the US and the UK, including benefits, terms, HR processes and organisational design
- Managing complex ER casework
- Developing, updating and communicating policies and maintaining the Employee Handbook
- Performance Management
- Oversee the annual Performance Development Plan process
- Coach managers on feedback, goal‑setting and performance conversations
- Lead probation reviews, performance management and exit interviews
- Training, Development & Engagement
- Deliver exceptional induction experiences that embed TTT’s culture and values
- Supporting engagement activities (welcome lunches, social events, recognition schemes)
The skills and experience you’ll need to succeed
- Essential
- Strong generalist HR experience at Senior Advisor or Manager level
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting Europe‑based teams (Greece/Italy strongly preferred)
- Experience managing payroll with outsourced providers
- Proven ability to support managers and employees through change
- Excellent organisation, communication and influencing skills
- Personable, trusted and able to build rapport at all levels
- HRIS experience (BambooHR preferred)
- Desirable
- Experience supporting US‑based teams
- Experience with EOR/PEO employment models
- Fluency in a second language (Greek or Italian preferred)
- CIPD qualification
