About The Role

Come and join our Brand New Nursery. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Room Leader to manage our Brand New Little Thinkers Nursery setting at Furzeham Primary and Nursery School.

Ideally you should be able to read stories upside down, with at least 10 interruptions per page. You will preferably have a little quirkiness - if a child requests that you be an astronaut navigating a rocket ship full of dinosaurs throughout space, you will be the best astronaut you can be! The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd of tiny humans is essential! Must not be afraid to dance in the rain, make mud pies and build sandcastles in the snow. Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of utmost importance! Nose wiping skills are desired!

Qualifications:

You must be qualified to Level 3 or above in Childcare & Education and have previous experience as a Room Leader or Senior Nursery Practitioner or be aspiring to progress within your career.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery, support and supervise staff with their day-to-day duties.
  • Deploy staff appropriately to ensure that the required standards are delivered and maintained within the rooms.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the nursery keyperson procedures and allocate children to key workers appropriately.
  • Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Provide professional, relevant feedback to parents/carers about their child and promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.
  • Develop open and positive working relationships with staff and ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly, professional relationships with parents and carers.

This is a full time position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. This position is currently term time only.
