As a school governor, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the educational landscape in your local community. We are looking for someone to lead our Academy Governing Board as the Chair of Governors.
We are ideally looking for somebody who has one or more of the following:
- Experience as a Governor
- Works in education
- Has experience with strategic leadership
This would be a fantastic opportunity to support children in your local community, as well as develop your own leadership skills. A handover and mentoring/support will be available when taking on the role.

About Us: The Gordons Childrens Academy is based in the Strood area. Our Junior and Infant school work closely together to ensure that all staff and children work together as one. We are dedicated to school improvement and we all aim to provide a happy, safe and fun school environment for the children, and our staff too. We have high expectations of behaviour and we recognise that it is our responsibility to listen to the children verbally or by interpreting their behaviour.
Pupils of Gordons Childrens Academy are proud of their school and have an exciting environment around them to learn in. We encourage use of a creative curriculum and all children enjoy decorating their classroom whilst they focus on a particular topic across the curriculum.
There is a clear expectation for how children behave and conduct themselves. Pupils are always encouraged to be their best selves.
