Looking for a role in one of the country’s leading selective schools? An exciting opportunity has arisen as we look to appoint a trainee Biology teacher with strong specialist subject knowledge and academic ability to teach and inspire our very able students throughout the school from KS3 to A level.
As part of the Graduate Teacher Programme we can offer:
- Competitive graduate salary (£28,000 plus in year 1 when training, rising to over £32,000 salary when fully qualified) and permanent employment
- A funded position on a Graduate Teacher Programme
- Qualified Teacher Status following the successful completion of the course
You will finish the year as a fully qualified teacher with experience of working with highly engaged students. This is a well‑paid position with the addition of a fully funded teaching qualification. During your training period, you will be given a 70% timetable and mentoring and support to help you deliver this and develop your teaching. You will need a degree in a subject related to Biology with strong A levels, including Biology.
Colchester Royal Grammar School is an 11‑18 school for boys and admits girls into a co‑educational Sixth Form. It is one of very few state boarding schools, with a family style boarding house designed for 30 Sixth Form students. This adds to the multicultural community of the school, which also offers a wide range of trips, exchanges and extracurricular activities to enrich the students’ education. The school has outstanding music and drama facilities and a comprehensive sports fixture list.
