Freelance Writer for Mission Led Organisation
£21 per hour | 25 hours per week (with scope for 30 when settled)

We are mission-based organisations providing training and education for professionals and young people in therapy, outdoor practice and sustainability. We are looking for a reliable, experienced Freelance Email Marketing Copywriter & Social Media Marketer. You should be a confident, skilled writer, able to understand how language shapes emotion, trust and decision-making. You will need to write clear, engaging email sequences and marketing content that speaks directly to our audiences, while also supporting light social and campaign delivery. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, efficient and self‑motivated, and who feels confident taking responsibility for a key role within a small, mission‑driven team.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend a monthly planning meeting to understand upcoming courses, launches and events
- Write and schedule email campaigns to potential learners - high volume email quantity
- Manage automated email sequences linked to waitlists, including updating, starting and stopping sequences without prompting
- Write and schedule social media content aligned to email campaigns
- Write and schedule social media content based on team activity and organisational updates
- Manage Facebook ads focused on course leads
- Monitor and review email and ad performance
- Track key statistics clearly in Google Sheets
- Communicate regularly with the team via WhatsApp and Asana
- Proactively request and chase information from team members to support planned content
Hours and Pay
- Freelance role 25 hours per week to start, with scope to increase to 30 hours with increased workload when comfortable
- £21 per hour
- Flexible working hours, spread across the week at times that suit you best
Essential Requirements
- Strong written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience with email marketing and automated email sequences
- Confident working across multiple organisations or projects
- Highly organised and able to manage work independently
- Comfortable using online tools such as Podia, Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, Asana and Google Sheets
- Happy interacting via Whatsapp and Asana with team
Desirable
- Experience marketing online courses or training programmes
- Experience managing Facebook ads
