We’re looking for a helpful, organised person to support daily café operations. You’ll learn to open the café, gain barista skills, serve customers, prepare food, waitress, wash dishes and keep tables clear. It’s a great first step into a hospitality career in a supportive, welcoming environment.
The Test of Stockbridge is a café on the bank of the River Test in the heart of Stockbridge serving local food and excellent coffee in a beautiful location.
What You’ll Do
- Support café operations by preparing food and beverages
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ensure all food and drink are made to specification, with awareness of allergens and cross‑contamination
- Maintain cleanliness across the café, including tables, counters and equipment
- Restock ingredients, drinks and supplies throughout the day
- Follow food hygiene and safety procedures at all times
- Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Handle payments accurately at the till
- Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to create a welcoming atmosphere
Training Outcome
There is potential to progress into a supervisor role after successfully completing the apprenticeship, building on the skills and experience gained while working as part of our team.
