An exciting opportunity to join The Telegraph's audio department, joining one of our award-winning podcasts, Ukraine: The Latest. Alongside a video producer, this role will lead on the delivery and production of the podcast, encouraging the show producers to develop and mould the editorial within a video context. You will work in collaboration with dozens of the UK's best reporters, correspondents and writers. The role will include the pre and post-production of this daily show, as well as audio editing. The role may also include working on other podcast titles down the line.
The ideal candidate will have a background in broadcast news or news podcasts. They will be able to demonstrate experience of working accurately and to tight deadlines and the technical and creative skills to make our podcast shine. A love of foreign affairs news and a knowledge of the wider news podcast landscape are also essential.
Key Responsibilities- To act as Senior Producer of one of The Telegraph's daily news podcasts, working alongside our Video Producer, Hosts, Head of Podcasts and other producers, to deliver the show.
- This will include assisting with editing and publishing both pre-recorded interviews and the daily show.
- Leading the pre- and post-production, including briefing and bidding guests and A/B testing headlines.
- Liaising with our other desks to make the most of our publishing plans across our app and website.
- Monitoring the Ukraine: The Latest inbox.
- A good foundation of experience working in news audio or video, be that for broadcast, newspapers or other digital news platforms.
- Experience creating daily content, demonstrating a skill in working to tight deadlines.
- Audio editing.
- Understanding of The Telegraph voice.
- A strong sense of editorial judgement and full knowledge of media law.
- Passion for podcasting as a medium.
- A keen interest in foreign and defence reporting.
- Experience working with a wider newsroom and high profile journalists and presenters.
