We are looking for an experienced and passionate freelance fitness professional to deliver engaging, inclusive programmes for teenage girls in leisure centre settings. This role focuses on supporting vulnerable young people to improve their confidence, physical activity levels, and overall well-being.

You will lead group sessions, create a welcoming environment, and act as a positive role model to inspire lasting change in the lives of participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality fitness and well-being sessions tailored to the needs of teenage girls, including those who may be disengaged or lacking confidence.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where all participants feel valued and encouraged.
  • Build positive relationships with participants and, where appropriate, their families or carers.
  • Liaise with leisure centre staff and project coordinators to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of programme outcomes, including collecting participant feedback and progress measures as needed.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and professional boundaries at all times.
Essential Requirements:
  • Insurance: You must hold and maintain your own Public Liability Insurance and any other relevant professional insurance.
  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 fitness qualification (e.g., Gym Instructor, Group Exercise, or equivalent). Additional qualifications (e.g., Youth Exercise, Level 3 Personal Training, Mental Health Awareness, Yoga, or Pilates) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with young people, particularly teenage girls or vulnerable groups, in a fitness or well-being capacity.
  • Safeguarding: A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Passion: A genuine commitment to empowering young people, improving their physical and mental health, and promoting positive self-esteem.

  • Approachable, empathetic, and able to build rapport quickly.
  • Confident in managing group dynamics in a leisure centre setting.
  • Organised and reliable with excellent communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable to the varying needs of participants.
Fee/Renumeration: This is a self-employed contract. Fees will be agreed per session or programme, depending on experience and qualifications.
