The Teen Project is a registered charity dedicated to empowering teenage girls by strengthening their confidence, emotional wellbeing and relationship with physical activity.
We provide early-intervention programmes for girls aged 11–18, working closely with schools and community partners to support those who may be struggling with confidence, emotional regulation, body image, physical activity, relationships, school engagement or wider wellbeing.
Our approach is holistic, psychologically informed and centred around building long-term skills rather than providing short-term solutions. Through group workshops, 1:1 mentoring and ongoing support, we help girls better understand themselves, develop resilience and build the confidence and practical tools they need to thrive both in and outside of school.
At the heart of everything we do is the belief that every teenage girl deserves to feel heard, supported and capable of shaping a positive future for herself.
Position Overview
Please note: We’re open to discussing a range of working arrangements, including part-time hours, term-time only contracts and flexible working patterns. Hours and arrangements can be considered on an applicant-by-applicant basis, depending on experience, availability, the needs of the role and organisational requirements.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and highly relatable Teen Engagement Coordinator to join our growing team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining programme delivery, 1:1 mentoring, school relationship management, youth engagement, impact measurement and programme development.
You will work directly with teenage girls across schools and community settings, delivering The Teen Project's interventions and creating safe, engaging environments where participants feel comfortable to talk, reflect, learn and challenge themselves.
The role requires someone who can build rapport quickly with young people while remaining professional, organised and confident when communicating with schools, parents, professionals and partner organisations.
Alongside direct delivery, you will contribute to the wider growth and sustainability of the charity through impact reporting, evaluation, programme development and supporting funding applications.
No week looks exactly the same. You may be delivering a confidence workshop in a school, mentoring a young person 1:1, liaising with a pastoral lead, analysing participant feedback or helping us demonstrate the impact of a programme to a funder.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Delivery & Facilitation
- Deliver The Teen Project's structured programmes within schools and community settings.
- Facilitate engaging workshops covering areas including confidence, emotional wellbeing, body image, resilience, relationships, physical activity and healthy coping strategies.
- Create a positive, inclusive and psychologically safe environment in which teenage girls feel comfortable participating.
- Adapt delivery appropriately to meet the needs, confidence levels and communication styles of different groups.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of programme content based on participant needs and feedback.
- Provide structured, personalised mentoring to teenage girls participating in our programmes.
- Build trusted and appropriate professional relationships with young people.
- Help participants identify goals, recognise barriers and develop practical strategies to support their confidence, wellbeing and engagement.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and accurate records of mentoring activity.
- Identify and elevate safeguarding concerns in line with The Teen Project's safeguarding procedures.
Teen Engagement
- Develop creative approaches to engaging teenage girls who may initially be reluctant, anxious or disengaged.
- Encourage sustained participation throughout programmes and follow‑on support.
- Listen carefully to the voices and experiences of young people and ensure these inform programme development.
- Help create resources, activities and initiatives that feel relevant and accessible to the girls we support.
School & Partner Relationships
- Build positive working relationships with school pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, teachers and other professionals.
- Coordinate programme delivery, student identification, session logistics and ongoing communication.
- Provide appropriate updates to schools while maintaining participant confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
- Represent The Teen Project professionally when working with external organisations and community partners.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact
- Collect and accurately record participant feedback, assessment data and programme outcomes.
- Support the measurement of changes in areas such as confidence, emotional wellbeing, physical activity, school engagement and resilience.
- Contribute to individual school and programme impact reports.
- Identify meaningful participant stories, feedback and case studies that demonstrate programme impact.
- Help ensure our delivery remains evidence-informed and responsive to emerging needs.
Funding & Organisational Development
- Contribute to funding applications by providing programme information, impact evidence and case studies.
- Support the preparation of evaluation reports and updates for funders and partners.
- Identify opportunities for developing new programmes, partnerships or community initiatives.
- Contribute ideas that support the continued growth and sustainability of The Teen Project.

- Relevant experience or study within psychology, education, youth work, social work, counselling, health, sport or another closely related field.
- Confidence working directly with teenagers, particularly teenage girls.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.

- Experience collecting and interpreting programme or impact data.
- Experience producing reports, case studies or evaluations.
- Experience contributing to funding applications or grant reporting.
- Lived experience that enables you to understand and relate sensitively to some of the challenges teenage girls may experience.
