The Tank Museum Archive is a Place of Deposit for The National Archives. It is the UK\'s foremost research centre on the subject of armoured warfare and holds documents, photographs, technical drawings, maps, moving images, books and journals directly related to the Royal Armoured Corps and particularly the Royal Tank Regiment.
The Object Collection houses the Museum\'s object collection with the exception of vehicles. It spans four stores and includes, amongst other items, uniforms, medals, flags, weapons, ammunition, models, art, radios and technical instruments.
The Digital Archivist will play an essential role in managing the Archive\'s digital collection, focussing on collections care and facilitating access. They will create strategies to manage the current and future intake of small and large collections of digital-born material; manage the Museum\'s digital archive collection on our digital preservation platform Preservica and our own network; catalogue digital collection items on our collection management system Tracer (a version of MuseumIndex+) and assist in the creation and support of our new online collections portal. They will also be involved in digitisation projects and will be required to assist others in the Archive & Object Collections team where needed.
