Looking for a varied HR generalist role where your impact is genuinely felt? Here at GXO, we’re looking for an HR Advisor to join our site supporting a prestigious fashion retailer. Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, generalist HR service across the operation.

Acting as a trusted partner to managers, you’ll provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, support engagement initiatives and coach leaders to build capability. This is a varied role where you’ll balance operational priorities with longer-term people initiatives, contributing to a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This role is being offered on a 12-month FTC basis. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00 or 09:00 till 17:00.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • Provide expert advice to managers and colleagues on employee relations, absence, performance, discipline and grievance matters, ensuring consistency and fairness
  • Contribute to engagement activities, HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage a varied ER caseload, ensuring compliance with employment law, policies and best practice
  • Support payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the function
  • Lead absence management, long-term sickness and return-to-work processes, driving initiatives to reduce absence levels

What You Need To Succeed At GXO

  • Experience in a similar HR Advisor or generalist role, ideally within a fast-paced operational or logistics environment
  • Able to build trusted relationships at all levels and challenge with credibility and professionalism
  • Confident advising on policies, employee relations and change management, with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience or exposure to payroll processes
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or working towards this
