HR Operations Administrator | Growing Retail Business

Zachary Daniels are recruiting for an HR Operations Administrator to join a growing retail business in a varied, hands‑on role supporting both the People function and wider business operations.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves organisation, has great attention to detail and enjoys being the person who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

You're involved across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll, employee records, absence, compliance and workforce reporting, alongside providing wider operational support to the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR system information
  • Preparing contracts, offer letters, amendments and leaver documentation
  • Supporting recruitment, including interview coordination and candidate communication
  • Managing pre‑employment checks and new starter onboarding
  • Making sure new starters have everything they need from day one, including systems, training and equipment
  • Supporting the monthly payroll process, ensuring employee changes, payments and deductions are accurate
  • Processing expenses and helping resolve payroll queries
  • Maintaining accurate absence, attendance and workforce information
  • Monitoring absence trigger points and supporting managers with the relevant processes
  • Tracking mandatory training, CPD and compliance requirements
  • Producing regular People and workforce reports
  • Supporting managers with day‑to‑day HR and operational queries
  • Coordinating supplies, facilities queries and other general operational administration
  • Supporting with reports, presentations and data
  • Looking for ways to improve processes and make things run more efficiently

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable juggling lots of different priorities.

You'll ideally have experience within HR administration, People operations, payroll, retail operations or a broader business support role.

You'll be confident working with systems and data, have strong attention to detail and be comfortable handling confidential information. Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills are important, along with the confidence to communicate with managers and colleagues across the business.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, uses their initiative and enjoys being in a role where you can get involved in lots of different areas.
