We are recruiting for a newly created position;
Compliance Manager for one of our leading clients based in Leeds.
You will take ownership of the company's compliance, governance and regulatory framework.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the business operates in line with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice, while promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain company policies and procedures in line with current legislation and regulatory requirements, presenting recommendations to the senior leadership team.
- Plan and deliver internal compliance audits covering areas including Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), Right to Work, Modern Slavery, GDPR, ethical practices and wider regulatory obligations.
- Take overall responsibility for coordinating and managing external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Lead all GDPR and data protection activities, including Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), compliance training, non-conformance investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee document control processes, ensuring policies, procedures and business documentation are accurately version controlled and regularly reviewed.
- Maintain supplier compliance records, agency agreements and approved supplier documentation.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience developing, implementing and continuously improving compliance policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Extensive knowledge of UK compliance legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act, ICO guidance and wider data governance principles.
- Experience managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), data protection compliance and associated training programmes.
- Demonstrable experience leading internal and external audits, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, quality management systems and Business Continuity Planning.
- Experience preparing compliance documentation for tenders, audits, accreditations and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and advise senior leadership.
