Having achieved impressive fundraising growth in recent years, the organisation is continuing to invest in its fundraising function, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced philanthropy professional to help drive future success.
Reporting into senior fundraising leadership, the Philanthropy Manager will play a key role in developing and growing income from high-net-worth individuals, building meaningful relationships with existing supporters while identifying and cultivating new prospects. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of major donors, develop innovative stewardship approaches and contribute to the long-term growth of the charity's philanthropy programme.

With operational teams based on-site, you'll be able to create engaging donor experiences that bring the cause to life, demonstrating impact first-hand and helping inspire transformational support. Supported by dedicated prospect research and fundraising colleagues, you'll have access to the tools and resources needed to build strong donor relationships and maximise giving opportunities. You'll also lead and support the Philanthropy Officer, helping to strengthen the mid-value programme and develop a pipeline of future major donors.
As Philanthropy Manager, you will:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of major donor prospects and existing supporters with the capacity to give 5 and 6-figure gifts.
- Build strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, delivering tailored stewardship and meaningful engagement opportunities.
- Identify, cultivate and secure new income opportunities through proactive prospecting and donor engagement.
- Re-engage lapsed supporters and develop relationships with new prospects to strengthen the major donor pipeline.
- Lead and support the Philanthropy Officer, overseeing the development and growth of the mid-value programme.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to create compelling donor experiences and maximise fundraising opportunities.
You will bring:
- A proven track record of securing significant gifts from high-net-worth individuals within a philanthropy fundraising environment.
- Experience managing the full donor journey, from prospect identification and cultivation through to solicitation and long-term stewardship.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage, influence and inspire supporters and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working with senior leaders, ambassadors or volunteers to unlock opportunities and strengthen donor relationships.
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with a passion for developing meaningful supporter relationships and driving fundraising growth.
This role would particularly suit an experienced philanthropy fundraiser looking to take ownership of a significant donor portfolio while helping shape the future growth of an ambitious fundraising programme. It offers the opportunity to play a central role in generating transformational support, whilst connecting donors with a cause that delivers tangible and lasting impact every day.
