The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering with the wonderful ellenor Charity as they search for an Interim Head of Individual Giving for an exciting initial 4-month role. The successful candidate will drive growth in key income streams and lead a team of four fundraisers specialising in Individual Giving, Lottery, Legacy and Philanthropy.
The successful candidate will develop and implement a robust growth strategy to expand our supporter base and increase income across all fundraising products. With proven leadership skills, strong data analysis capabilities, and a track record of delivering significant fundraising income, you will play a key role in achieving our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a clear strategy to grow the active donor base and maximise long-term sustainable income across all individual giving income streams.
- Implement a multi-channel direct marketing fundraising programme to achieve strategic objectives, leveraging internal and external digital and content teams effectively.
- Set realistic forecast models and targets to drive desired fundraising outcomes.
- Design and execute an integrated communications programme for cash donors and regular givers.
- Utilise audience segmentation and database insights to extract, analyse, and segment data, implementing targeted strategies and supporter journeys that enhance growth, income, and lifetime value.
- Provide strong leadership to the fundraising team, ensuring clear KPIs and data-driven insights inform performance management.
- Oversee the development of innovative and effective fundraising products to enhance donor engagement and giving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with sector regulations, best practices, and industry standards, maintaining an efficient and effective fundraising service.
- Manage the database effectively to drive marketing efforts, including propensity modelling and responsive supporter journeys.
- Take ownership of budget management, including the development of forecasting tools.
- Conduct donor research, data analysis, and profiling to improve donor retention and engagement.
- Stay updated on charity law and fundraising developments by liaising with sector colleagues, attending training sessions and conferences, and adhering to the Charities Act and the IOF Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Drive innovation and the development of new projects and opportunities to enhance fundraising impact.
- Proven track record of success in Individual Giving fundraising, with expertise in both acquisition and retention strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team.
- Data-driven approach with experience in setting and reporting on effective KPIs, using insights to optimise fundraising strategies.
- Supporter-focused, with a history of implementing audience growth strategies and developing effective supporter journeys.
- Extensive experience in leading direct marketing and income generation across multiple media channels.
- Demonstrable success in driving income growth and increasing active donors within Individual Giving (retention, cash, in-memory giving, lottery, and legacy).
- Strong budget management skills, with the ability to build compelling business cases for investment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and convey complex information effectively.
- Results-driven leader with experience in designing and executing direct marketing programmes across diverse channels.
- Analytical and inquisitive, able to process and communicate complex information to varied audiences.
- Strong understanding of fundraising technology, including CRM systems and online donation platforms.
- Solid working knowledge of Charity Law, GDPR, Fundraising Code of Practice, Gift Aid, and marketing regulations relevant to individual giving.
- An initial 4-month contract with the potential of going permanent.
- A rate of £164.53 per-day plus £20.47 daily holiday.
- A flexible working pattern with just 2 – 3 days per-week in the charity’s Gravesend base.
