The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering with a wonderful social welfare charity in their search for a new Head of High Value Relationships, leading major donor, corporate, trust and foundation fundraising on behalf of the organisation.
As the lead for major gifts fundraising organisationally, you will lead a talented team (of 6 currently, with future ambitions for growth) across major donor, corporate, trusts and foundations income streams. Major donor fundraising is a new area of fundraising for the charity, with the Head of High Value Relationships taking responsibility for building and growing this programme, following previous feasibility projects that identified some initial prospects with links to the organisation. The trusts, foundations and corporate income streams are more established but also have significant headroom to grow, with talented fundraisers already in post and showing great potential. Alongside new business, there is scope to focus on uplift and deeper engagement with these audiences to drive further support. To support this, work is currently underway to develop new cases for support that focus on long-term opportunities for fundraising to enable multi-year, high value support.
The Head of High Value Relationships will play a key role within the Leadership Team, working cross-organisationally with colleagues to identify opportunities for funding that could have significant appeal to high value audiences.
As Head of High Value Relationships you will:
- Lead major gift fundraising on behalf of the charity, maximising the support of major donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partners.
- Take personal responsibility for the development and delivery of a new major donor fundraising programme.
- Balance strategic and operational duties, leading the team by example and guiding them to secure 6- and 7-figure major gifts.
- Implement a focus on long-term support, shifting from in-year fundraising models by supporting the development of new cases for support that enable multi-year commitments.
The role would best suit:
- An experienced high value fundraiser, with expertise that includes successfully securing donations from major donors.
- A skilled relationship builder with the ability to establish long-term, high value relationships.
- A skilled team leader, focused on the development and upskilling of direct reports whilst collaborating closely with colleagues across the charity.
- A creative strategist, able to identify new opportunities for funding whilst shaping and implementing a comprehensive high value fundraising strategy that includes major donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partners.
