We are seeking a Youth Worker to support student management, discipline matters, behaviour intervention, and student well-being in a structured school environment. The role involves working closely with the Student Development Team, Student Management Team, teachers, students, and relevant stakeholders. The successful candidate should be comfortable supporting students who require behavioural guidance, emotional support, and supervision during school hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Student Development Team and Student Management Team in student management and discipline matters.
  • Conduct investigations, prepare reports, and communicate with relevant stakeholders, where required.
  • Assist in drafting and administering behavioural management documentation and forms.
  • Guide and supervise students placed on in-house suspension or controlled recess duty.
  • Provide direct classroom supervision for identified students, where required.
  • Respond to teachers’ requests to manage students displaying inappropriate behaviour.
  • Accompany students to a calming room when required.
  • Provide basic counselling and emotional support to students.
  • Work professionally with students, teachers, parents, and relevant school personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum Higher Nitec, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work, or a related discipline.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children or youth in a school, social service, or community setting.
  • Comfortable working in a structured school environment with student discipline and behaviour management responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work professionally with students, teachers, parents, and school stakeholders.
  • Candidates must possess valid work authorisation in Singapore at the point of application.

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience in student management, behaviour intervention, or in-house suspension programmes.
  • Familiarity with school processes or prior deployment in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and reporting obligations in a school context.

Work Arrangements

  • Working Days: Monday to Friday
  • Working Hours: 7.30am to 2.30pm, inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break
  • Non-Working Days: Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and school holiday months, namely March, June, September, and December
  • Venue: On-site at a school in Jalan Membina
