The Talent People Pte. Ltd. (EA License: 24C2589) is recruiting a Youth Worker on behalf of a government-assisted secondary school in Geylang East. This is a school-based engagement from 29 June to 6 November 2026 (19 weeks), working 4 days per week, 7 hours per day (8am–4pm).
What You'll Do
- You will be deployed to work directly with identified secondary school students (Sec 1–5), providing mentoring, counselling, and social-emotional support.
- Building sustained, trust‑based relationships with at‑risk students and their families over the 4‑month engagement.
- Planning and delivering intervention programmes tailored to student needs, including house visits where required.
- Supporting students' social‑emotional learning, character development, and peer relationships.
- Identifying key needs and escalating cases to school's Student Management team.
- Attending case review and case management meetings with school personnel.
- Collaborating with Student Management and Student Development teams.
- Maintaining professional conduct in all school engagements, in accordance with MOE's Expectations of Instructors.
Requirements
- Registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) — mandatory, non‑negotiable.
- Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Singapore or working under supervision of a Registered Social Worker, with training in social and emotional learning.
- Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Minimum 3 years of working experience, preferably in the social service sector with at‑risk youth and families.
- Passionate about working with vulnerable students; positive belief in student potential.
- Strong facilitation and engagement skills; able to motivate students through hands‑on approaches.
- Must be available to list training/programmes conducted since 1 Jan 2021 (required for submission).
Assignment Details
- Period: 29 June – 6 November 2026.
- Days: 4 days/week (exact days confirmed with school).
- Hours: 8am – 4pm (7 hours inclusive of 1‑hour lunch break).
- Location: Geylang East Central, Singapore.
- No weekend or public holiday work required.
Compensation
S$2,800–S$3,200/month equivalent (commensurate with experience and qualifications). This is a contract role. You will be employed by The Talent People Pte. Ltd. for the duration of the assignment.
