We are hiring an Operations Assistant to be deployed at a government secondary school in Yishun. This is a hands-on operational role covering facilities management, landscaping, contractor coordination, and general maintenance. You will work closely with the school's Operations Manager and be part of the day-to-day running of the school campus.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
No weekend or public holiday work required.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct daily walkabout inspections: check for mosquito breeding, pest issues, vandalism, water blockage, building seepage, and canteen hygiene
- Liaise with and supervise term contractors on campus (building, electrical, landscaping)
- Perform simple repairs and carpentry tasks (e.g., cutting padlocks, minor fixtures)
- Resolve basic electrical faults such as power trips
- Maintain the school's landscaping including plant trimming, fishpond upkeep, and the spice garden
- Escort and supervise contractors during repair works
- Manage and maintain the Emergency Store
- Assist with school decoration and general improvement works
- Provide timely feedback on contractor work status to school leaders
What We're Looking For
- Minimum N-Level certificate or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities management, landscaping, or a similar operational role
- Prior experience in a school or institutional setting is an advantage
- Physically fit with the ability to perform hands-on duties
- Organised, meticulous, and able to multi-task
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player who can work independently with minimal supervision
This is a contract position. The successful candidate will be employed by The Talent People Pte. Ltd. and deployed to the school.
