About the Role

The Talent People Pte. Ltd. is recruiting on behalf of the Ministry of Education (MOE) for a contract staff member to support the Finance unit's Accounts Payable (AP) operations at MOE Headquarters, 51 Grange Road, Singapore 249564. This is a hands-on operational finance role. The successful candidate will be responsible for AP processing and payment administration, and must be able to demonstrate active, recent experience in this area.

Contract Duration: 1 August 2026 – 31 July 2027, with an option to extend for a further year to 31 July 2028.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage payment transactions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Verify and validate supporting documentation; identify and reconcile discrepancies
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of payment transactions, approvals, and authorisations
  • Handle payment-related enquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, or Business Administration; OR Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in finance or accounts payable

Experience:

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate active, recent, hands-on experience in Accounts Payable. This experience must be reflected in your current role or one of the two most recent roles held after 2020. Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be shortlisted.
  • Relevant AP experience includes:
    • Managing the accounts payable function within a finance team
    • Validating invoices and reviewing supporting documents
    • Maintaining accurate data entry in tracking spreadsheets

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and conditional formatting
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication for liaison with internal officers and external vendors
  • Adaptable and willing to learn; open to using digital tools or AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency

Work Arrangements:

  • Location: Ministry of Education HQ, 51 Grange Road, Singapore 249564
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm; Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
  • Full on-site attendance required. No work-from-home arrangement.
  • Not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.
