About the Role

A primary school in Yishun is seeking a part-time Youth Worker to provide targeted intervention and restorative practice support for identified students.

The Youth Worker will work closely with the school’s Student Development Team and teaching staff to support students’ social-emotional development, relationships and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted intervention, monitoring and ongoing support for identified students in collaboration with the Student Development Team and teachers.
  • Facilitate restorative practice sessions, including community-building circles, restorative conversations, conflict mediation and peacemaking circles.
  • Support students in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy and responsible decision-making skills.
  • Build constructive working relationships with students, families and school staff to strengthen home-school collaboration.
  • Provide training, guidance and consultation to school staff to strengthen their restorative practice capabilities.
  • Observe, document and provide weekly updates on students’ needs, interventions and case progress to the Student Development Team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with the school’s reporting requirements.
  • Support the review and continuous improvement of restorative practice and student intervention programmes.
  • Assist with other student management and student well-being duties assigned by the Student Development Team.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, Youth Work or a related discipline.
  • Certified Practitioner in Restorative Practice or Building Relational Capacity, accredited under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications framework.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in the education or social service sector.
  • Valid registration with the Ministry of Education for school deployment.
  • Comfortable handling case documentation, confidential information and school-based reporting requirements.
  • Able to work independently across a part-time, multi-day schedule.

Experience supporting primary-school-aged students, facilitating restorative circles or conducting family engagement sessions would be advantageous.

Work Arrangements

  • Contract period: 14 September 2026 to 31 December 2027, excluding official school holidays.
  • Possible extension: Up to 31 December 2028, subject to the Authority’s discretion.
  • Schedule: Three school days per week, based on the school’s termly schedule:One full day from 8:00am to 5:00pm, inclusive of a one-hour meal break.Two half days from 8:00am to 12:30pm, inclusive of a 30-minute break on each day.
  • Indicative salary: S$1,400–S$1,700 per month, subject to relevant qualifications, experience and final sourcing confirmation.
